Hi everyone,
Today I will be reviewing a game recommended to me by a work-mate: Crazy Tanks
Crazy Tanks is 59p on the App Store and developed by bootant.com. It's a very simple concept; you're a tank, driving around an arena shooting other tanks. The arenas are pretty basic, but still very cool-looking. As you go through the levels more enemy tanks are added, as well as turrets. To fire your cannon simply tap the screen, and tilt your iDevice to drive. My favourite feature of this fun little app is that cannonballs bounce off of the arena, so you can pull off some pretty awesome rebound shots!
Now, the shooting is perfect, but the movement needs improving. To turn 180 degrees whilst accelerating (which happens often) you have to tilt the iPod almost 180 degrees itself, which makes it rather awkward, and stops movement from being fluid. Also, the radar, which shows you where your enemy is, is pretty rubbish. The tanks turn too much for you to actually figure it out, making the radar useless.
Final Verdict: A good little shooter, with a few improvements it could be great. 6.5 out of 10.
Check back tomorrow for my review of Fastlane Street Racer!

Second Post/ First Review- Minigore
Hello!
My first review is for the survival-shooter game Minigore, created by Chillingo and costing 59p. I've played similar games like this on Internet sites, so I was intrigued as to how this one would fare.
The answer? Very well! The games 3D characters and almost-3D landscapes are beautifully made, and the controls are very responsive. I'm generally a little bit wary about the on-screen joystick, as some games which use it (Assassins Creed for example) are not as responsive as I would have hoped. However, Minigore's movement is spot on, and the shooting is too.

As you can see from the picture, there are three main sizes of enemies- the Minifurry, the Furry and the Giantfurry. The larger enemies turn into multiple small ones and as a result the screen often becomes filled. My main gripe with this game is that there are only three types of enemy. They do get boring after a while, which is when the concentration starts to lapse and you die!
Their iTunes page talks about the upcoming updates, which include features such as a Save option, new characters and a new 'Insane Mode.' I for one am I looking forward to these updates, as they will be a great improvement to an already awesome game.
Final Verdict- Fluid controls, good gameplay and excellent graphics.

First Post!
Hello no-one!
I thought it seemed pretty absurd to post something that nobody will read, but then I realised that I need to post to get people to read!
First of all, I am not affiliated with Apple in any way. I only realised iReview was previously used by Apple after creating the blog.
Second of all, I would like to point everyone towards another reviewer, TheiPodKid, who's Youtube videos inspired me to start this blog. His address is http://www.youtube.com/user/TheiPodKid
My first review will follow shortly (:
I hope someone reads this...
